In bronze gilt with red and white enamels, obverse illustrating the left-facing busts of Joseph Stalin and Mao Zedong, the busts surmounted by a star and framed by a half-gear, the China Railway insignia at the base, reverse inscribed in Mandarin "Jointly Run by China and the Soviet Union / Given by the Central People's Government of the People's Republic of China", dated "1952" and number impressed "536" on the reverse, measuring 39.5 mm (w) x 41 mm (h), fine chipping evident in the red enamels, scattered gilt wear, light contact, original ribbon suspended from a traditional Chinese hanger with pinback, better than very fine.
