A bronze medal, obverse featuring two plants stemming from 6 o’clock, with a silvered inscription in the center, the reverse presents a Chinese inscription, measures 30.10mm (w) x 33.80mm (h), weighs 17.3 grams (including ribbon), worn on original ribbon with hook and eye suspension on reverse, very dark paina, wear to silver on obverse, overall very fine condition. Contained in its original case of issue, a black lacquered case with Chinese inscription on reverse (roughly translating to “Danzhou State Founding Medal”), crème coloured velvet recessed medalbed and crème coloured silk interior, case measures 67mm (w )x 111mm (l) x 20mm (d), hinge function, clasp on lid missing, light wear and contact marks, material ripped over hinge, in better than fine condition.
