Badge: multi-piece construction, in silvered and gilt bronze with blue enamels, measuring 50.3 mm (w) x 48.5 mm (h), on its full-length original neck ribbon with rosette, along with a hook and eye closure; and Breast Star: multi-piece construction, in silvered and gilt bronze with blue enamels, measuring 73.8 mm (w) x 71.7 mm (h), vertical pinback. Intact enamels, very light contact, extremely fine. In their teak wood case of issue, 53 mm (w) x 52 mm (h) coat of arms in bronze gilt placed at the top of the centre panel on the lid, multi-swirl pattern carved into the lid and the sides of both the lid and base, inside lid lined in white satin, padded and exhibiting the impressions of the Grand Officer Badge and Breast Star, raised platform in red felt with a recessed medal bed for the Badge and a slotted recessed medal bed for the Breast Star, foot pads in each corner on the bottom, measuring 140 mm (w) x 263 mm (h) x 53.3 mm (d), scattered gilt wear on the coat-of-arms, very light contact on the exterior, case near extremely fine.
Footnote: The Star of the Republic of Indonesia was instituted in 1959. It is Indonesia's highest order, awarded to both civilians and the military for their merits to the republic and the people, who have given extraordinary service to the integrity, viability, and greatness of Indonesia. As the highest order of the Republic, its grand master is the President of Indonesia, who after his/her inauguration is bestowed upon with the collar and medal of the "Bintang Republik Indonesia Adipurna" class. The order is awarded in five classes: I Class (Bintang Republik Indonesia Adipurna), II Class (Bintang Republik Indonesia Adipradana), III Class (Bintang Republik Indonesia Utama), IV Class (Bintang Republik Indonesia Pratama) and V Class (Bintang Republik Indonesia Nararya).
