A high quality badge consisting of a silver gilt insignia mounted to a frosted silver base, 46 mm (w) x 43.5 mm (h), vertical pinback, extremely fine. In its hardshelled case of issue, balsa wood frame, black lacquer finish, gilt characters on the lid, recessed medal bed, case also extremely fine .

Footnote: When Japan went to war with the United States and the Allies in 1942, along with other medals, this type of medal was used as an incentive to increase work force labour in many sectors, including the mining industry, the metalworking industry, the machine parts industry, the chemical industry and others.
