Japan, Empire. A Pair of Imperial Naval Engineer Shoulder Boards
Upper fabricated from multiple rows of gold-coloured bullion wire, the length-wise edges trimmed on either side in a thin row of white cotton and a wide row of black wool, a silvered bronze cherry blossom insignia affixed to the bullion wire, bronze gilt button bearing the Imperial Japanese Navy insignia at the shoulder end, underside finished with a patch in beige synthetic material, with a brown leather strap emerging from it and housing a magnetic metal clip for uniform attachment, measuring 41 mm (w) x 122.5 mm (h) each, scattered silvering wear on both cherry blossom insignias, greening evident in the bullion on one board, better than very fine.
