An Imperial Japanese Army field hat constructed of coarse olive drab wool field cap with a machine sewn yellow star worn on the front, the leather chinstrap is secured by two magnetic brass buttons, there are three ventilation holes on each side of the cap, the rear of the cap has two parallel rows of three reinforced openings which a cotton lace passes through for size adjustment, the interior is lined with cheesecloth, stamped with illegible Japanese writing, and features a leather sweatband, measuring approximately 280 mm when folded, chinstrap bears some discolouration, and is in overall better than very fine condition.
