A Japanese Order of the Rising Sun to a German Hauptmann (Captain) Sierakowski
Japan; Silver with white, green and violet enamels, centre red glass cabochon, 47 mm x 67.5 mm inclusive of its Paulonia flowers suspension, with an independent replacement ribbon, intact enamels, integral suspension is bent forward forcing the Paulonia flowers suspension to sit slightly askew, with the corresponding rays beside the integral suspension of the badge exhibiting chipping in the white enamels, along with contact marks evident on both the obverse and reverse, very fine. Accompanied by its Award Document (printed in black, red and green inks, on a thick paper stock, the illustration of the badge with lacquer on the printed red cabochon and Paulonia flowers suspension, obverse designated Fifth Class and dated March 8, 1910, reverse inscribed in pencil "Hauptmann v. Sierakowski" on the reverse, 455 mm x 587 mm, with fold marks, minor spotting on the obverse and scattered streaking on the reverse).
