Includes:
(a) three Awards:
1. Order of the Golden Kite, VII Class (金凧勲章 / (Kinshi kunsho). Instituted in 1890. In silver gilt, measuring 43.3 mm in width x 57 mm in height inclusive of its laterally-pierced ball suspension, contact marks, on its original ribbon with hook and eye, in its hardshelled case of issue, balsa wood frame, the exterior with a black lacquer finish, gilt characters on the lid, inside lid lined in violet satin and padded, base in violet satin, with a platform incorporating a recessed medal bed in violet felt, measuring 59.5 mm in width x 88.5 mm in height x 27.5 mm in depth.
2. Order of the Rising Sun, VIII Class (旭日小綬章 / Kyokujitsu_sho). Instituted in 1875. In silver, measuring 31 mm in width x 33 mm in height inclusive of its laterally-pierced ball suspension, contact marks, on its original ribbon with hook and eye, in its hardshelled case of issue, balsa wood frame, the exterior with a black lacquer finish, gilt characters on the lid, inside lid lined in violet satin and padded, base with a recessed medal bed in violet felt, measuring 60 mm in width x 96 mm in height x 22.7 mm in depth.
3. 1904-1905 Russo-Japanese War Medal (日露戦争勲章 / Nichirosensō kunshō). Instituted in 1906. In bronze gilt, measuring 30.5 mm in diameter, gilt wear evident on the reverse, light contact overall, on its original ribbon with hook and eye, in its balsa wood box of issue, gilt characters on the lid, base with a recessed medal bed in red felt, the box measuring 58 mm in height x 106 mm in width x 22 mm in depth.
(b) ten Award Documents:
4. Order of the Golden Kite, VII Class Award Document (金凧勲章 / Kinshi kunsho): printed in black, red, green and gold inks, on a thick off-white paper stock, illustrating the Imperial Seal of Japan in the centre along the top edge, the Order of the Golden Kite 7th Class award in the centre along the bottom edge in colour, both of which are framed within a floral wreath, the framework for the text designed with repeating alternating images of the Imperial Seal and Paulownia flowers in a 5-7-5 configuration and are interlaced with flowers, measuring 585 mm in width x 453 mm in height, rolled, minor creasing.
5. Order of the Rising Sun, VIII Class Award Document (旭日小綬章 / Kyokujitsu_sho): printed in black and red inks, on a thick off-white paper stock, illustrating the Imperial Seal of Japan in the centre along the top edge, the Order of the Rising Sun 8th Class award in the centre along the bottom edge, both of which are framed within a floral wreath, the framework for the text designed with repeating alternating images of the Imperial Seal and the Order of the Rising Sun award interlaced with flowers, measuring 587 mm in width x 455 mm in height each, rolled, exhibiting five holes on the right side, along with minor creasing.
6. two 1904-1905 Russo-Japanese War Medal Award Documents (日露戦争勲章 / Nichirosensō kunshō): printed in black and red inks, on a thin off-white paper stock, illustrating the Imperial Seal of Japan in the centre along the top edge and framed within a floral wreath, the 1904-1905 Russo-Japanese War Medal in the centre along the bottom edge and framed within a trophy of arms, measuring 457 mm in width x 365 mm and 460 mm in width x 363 mm in height respectively, the former with a white paper tab affixed and exhibiting extensive creasing, along with two holes at the upper right, the latter with tears on the right side, edge wear, along with discoluration and soiling overall.
7. Lot of Seven Assorted Award Documents: in black and/or red inks, six on different grades of paper, in various sizes, one of a thick paper stock with seven columns of characters in black ink, measuring 310 mm in width x 227 mm in height, in a variety of conditions.
(c) Wallet with two Booklets: in black cotton, designed in a roll-out format, with a strap on the front panel to receive the tab on the fold over flap, characters in red on the back panel, the inside housing two booklets, one of which is bound to the wallet, the other loose, the wallet measuring 128 mm in width x 95 mm in height.
(d) The aforementioned items are housed in a large hardshelled presentation case, balsa wood frame, the entire exterior and the interior's base with a black lacquer finish, two insignia and gilt characters on the lid, measuring 115 mm in width x 500 mm in height x 103 mm in depth, with triple strand violet cords exiting the case on both sides, both of which are finished with a tassel, minor scattered edge wear and chipping evident in the black lacquer finish on the lid on the bottom on the base.
