Instituted in 1939. In bronze, measuring 30 mm in diameter, very light contact, original ribbon with hook and eye, near extremely fine. In its balsa wood box of issue, gilt characters on the lid, box also near extremely fine.

Footnote: The China Incident War Medal was established by Imperial Edict No. 496 on July 27, 1939, amended by Edict No. 418 of 1944 and abolished by Government Ordinance No. 177 of 1946. It was awarded for participation in or support of the invasion of China on July 7, 1937.
