A Chokuninkan (Imperial Appointee) tailcoat constructed of black wool, presenting ornamentation at the collar, back, chest, sleeves, sides, and small of the back, displaying patterns of 5-7-5 leaf paulownia flowers, surrounded by densely embroidered paulownia buds, in addition to embroidery in spiraling patterns resembling lightning at the rim of the ornamentation and the fringe of the coat, down the centre of the breast are gilded button inlaid with 5-7-5 leaf patterned paulownia flowers, the interior is lined in a white cotton, the interior collar presents a tailor label for SHINKAWA TOKIO, the coat measures approximately 39 cm across the shoulders, 51.5 cm length in the sleeves, 93 cm in total length, in addition to a 36 cm long rear vent, the coat presents loss of gilt to the ornamentation all over the exterior, mild mothing to the wool, and moderate staining to the interior lining, and in overall near very fine condition.
