Max bidding example:

Japan, Imperial Navy. A Captain Dress Coat, c.1940

A Second War Imperial Japanese Navy coat constructed of black wool with a complete cotton-blend interior lining. The cuffs of both arms bear sleeve insignias constructed of gold bullion representing the rank of Captain in the Imperial Japanese Navy. Down each breast lays six gilded bronze buttons beside six reinforced buttonholes, allowing the wearer to close the coat on either side. All buttons on the coat are engraved with a fouled anchor and cherry blossom. The lower reverse has a 470 mm vertical slit, around which is set four gilded bronze buttons. The interior of the tunic is fully lined by a black cotton fabric, transitioning into a pinstripe design through the arms. Both interior breasts bear two flap pockets with the flap bearing a reinforced buttonhole meeting a black, bakelite button. The label at the back of the collar reads “Yamashiroya Tokio” and rests above a black diamond-shaped patch containing Japanese writing in gold embroidery. The coat measures approximately 400 mm across the shoulders, with an arm length of 500 mm and a total body length of 980 mm. The sleeve insignia has detached in a few spots, otherwise the coat is in a better than extremely fine condition.
