Footnote: The Grand Order of the Plum Blossoms was founded by Emperor Kwangmu on April 17, 1900. It was awarded in one class only, Grand Cordon, and conferred on holders of the Grand Cordon of the Taeguk Order of Merit. This Order is almost identical in design to the Order of the Golden Ruler. The only difference is that the taeguk is oriented horizontally. This order became obsolete in 1912 when Japan took over Korea.
