Médaille de la Reconnaissance du Gouvernement. Instituted in 1962. In bronze, dated "1960-1961" on the reverse, measuring 34.5 mm (w) x 60.2 mm (h), discolouration evident on the reverse, original ribbon, near extremely fine.
Footnote: The Medal of Government Gratitude (AKA Order of the Revolution) was instituted on January 27, 1962. This medal was for service in the rightist forces in the 1960-1961 "campaign" of civil war for political ascendancy between General Phoumi Nosavan’s Royal forces and General Kong Le’s Neutralists and the allied Pathet Lao. The medal was also reportedly given with finger rings in the grades of gold, silver, and bronze.
