Three-piece construction, in silver gilt with red, white, yellow, light blue and ultramarine blue enamels, type III with Cyrillic text in the ribbon banner, number engraved "3165" on the reverse, measuring 46.5 mm (w) x 53.2 mm (h), screwback, intact enamels, extremely fine.
Footnote: The Order of the Polar Star is a state award of Mongolia and was instituted in 1936, the regulation approved by the resolution of the Presidium of the Small Khural and the Council of Ministers of the MPR on May 16, 1941. It is awarded for military services, and for strengthening the armed forces of the Republic. Also, it is the highest civilian award Mongolia can present to a foreign citizen.
