Two Thai Service Medals; Border & East Asia Combat
East Asia Combat Service Medal (1941-1945) (silvered metal, 38.3 mm); and Border Service Medal (bronze gilt, 38.5 mm, missing its lotus leaf suspension). Each with original ribbons and suspended from inscribed spear hangers with pinbacks, contact marks on the reverse of the BSM, very fine. Footnote: The East Asia Combat Service Medal was issued in 1942, to be awarded to Thai military who served in the East Asia theatre during the Second World War. The Border Service Medal was instituted in 1954, to be awarded to customs and border officials for long and efficient service or outstanding achievement.
