Constructed of bronze, the obverse with a raised leftward-facing profile of King Ludwig I of Bavaria, circumscribed by name and title in Latin, the reverse with a central inscription of “RERUM COGNOSCERE CAUSAS” (“TO KNOW THE CAUSES OF THINGS”), circumscribed by an inscription of “ACADEMIA SCIENTIARUM BOICA” (“ACADEMY OF SCIENCES AND HUMANITIES”), the obverse marked “ST. F.”, measuring 42.73 mm in diameter, weighing 43.8 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
