Hardshelled design on both the lid and base with a black simulated leather-look cloth fabric exterior, the lid bearing the cypher of Albert I (reign: 1909-1934) in the centre and an "O" (Officier = Officer) at the lower left in gold-coloured ink, the inside of the lid lined in white satin, padded and maker marked "P. De Greef BRUXELLES 112 RUE DU MIDI", a white cardboard insert placed within the base and housing a medal bed in cream-coloured felt, push latch closure, measuring 79 mm (w) x 149 mm (h) x 27 mm (d), very light wear evident on the exterior, indentations and interruptions in the felt of the medal bed from the award and its pinback respectively, near extremely fine.
