PEDRO SEGUNDO IMPERADOR DO BRAZIL" (Pedro II, Emperor of Brazil), reverse dated "1852" within a wreath, surrounded by the inscription "CAMPANHA DO URUGUAY (Uruguay Campaign), measuring 30.5 mm in diameter, missing its original zinc Imperial crown suspension, edge nicks, contact marks, replacement ribbon, fair.
Footnote: The Medal for the Uruguay Campaign was authorized by Pedro II in 1852, in recognition of Generals, Officers, and men who defeated Rosas, leader of the Argentine forces, in Uruguay in 1852, in three grades: I Class Gold, II Class Silver and III Class Zinc.
