In their hardshelled case of issue, marked "ROYAL BRUNEI MALAY REGIMENT/ LONG SERVICE & GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL" on the lid, maker marked "SPINK & SON, LTD. LONDON" on the inside lid, black velvet medal bed, hinged, soiled on the exterior and on the inside lid, case fine.

Footnote: The Royal Brunei Malay Regiment Long Service and Good Conduct Medal was conferred to both commissioned and non-commissioned ranks upon completion of eighteen years in the Armed Forces of Brunei. Some sources state that the medal was instituted in 1979, yet the effigy of Sultan Omar Ali Safuddin III, who reigned 1950-1967 would suggest an earlier date. On the other hand, after his abdication in 1967, he held the post of Minister of Defense, so 1979 would make sense. The medal is still conferred, although it is not known if the obverse has not been replaced with the effigy of HM Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.
