Featured three-dimensional bison head in silver, the head affixed to the badge via two prongs and framed by an open-ended wreath and crown in silvered bullion wire, in various textures, maroon felt in the void of the crown, touches of red and green embroidery in the base of the crown, along with black threading giving definition to the crown, both ribbon banners in light blue embroidery and trimmed in silvered beaded wire, the oval ribbon banner around the bison's head inscribed in French "MAINTIENS LE DROIT" (Maintain the Right), the flowing ribbon banner at the base inscribed "ROYAL CANADIAN MOUNTED POLICE", on a black wool base, reverse with a white mesh backer, in addition to a circular bakelite support disk for the badge, measuring 100 mm (w) x 113 mm (h), without interruptions in the fabrics, extremely fine.
