Footnote: The 4th Mounted Rifle Battalion was organized on March 15, 1915, in Toronto, Ontario. It served in France and Holland and was disbanded on November 15, 1920. They were initially issued with badges with "4 C.M.R. OVERSEAS" (4th Canadian Mounted Rifles), which were later altered to "4 C.M.R.R. OVERSEAS" (4th Canadian Mounted Rifles Regiment).
