1920-1954 period. WWII issued. In bronze gilt, a lot of three WWII RCMP badges composed by a pair of shoulder titles displaying the acronym “RCMP”, measuring 57.65 mm (w) x 13.89 mm (h) each one, the reverse with a mark standing “Made in England”, both with replaced pin back assembly, light contact, in very good condition; accompanied by a single collar badge featuring a bison’s head facing front-wise, surrounded by motto “Maintiens le Droit” (Uphold the Right), as well as an outsider wreath of maple leaves with a Tudor’s crown on the top and a scroll on the bottom, the scroll inscribing “Royal Canadian Mounted Police”, measuring 33.04 mm (w) x 30.23 mm (h), the reverse with mark “Made in England” and replaced pin assembly, presenting minor oxidation on the reverse and light contact, very good condition; together with the carton of R. S. Bennett & Sons Limited, Toronto, manufacturers and distributors of military insignia, labeled twice with period address and maker's label, overall very good condition.
This offering is a part of the "Dr. Albert Goodwin Collection", a preeminent assemblage of world Orders, Medals, and Decorations composed solely by Dr.Goodwin between 1946-1967. Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He acted as both President and Vice-President of the Orders and Medals Society of America (OMSA) and is responsible for organizing their first convention in 1960. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society.
