Memorial Cross, GRI (A.19155 L/Cpl. G.N.GREGORY) naming officially engraved, marked “STERLING BMCo” below a hallmark on reverse, replacement suspension bar with straight bar and pinback on reverse, marked “STERLING” with an encircled “P” beside. In original case of issue, both extremely fine condition.
Footnote: George Nelles Gregory was born in Middlesex Ontario on October 15, 1903 to William and Elisabeth Gregory. He served in the Royal Canadian Engineers as a Lance Corporal during the Second World War, and died May 16, 1940, at the age of 36. He is buried in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in London Ontario, and is commemorated on page 13 of the Second World War Book of Remembrance.
