FENIAN RAID 1866 (Pte. H. Belleau. Que. Prov. Bn.). Naming is officially impressed. Cleaned, edge nicks, bruised, repaired clasp, replacement ribbon wrapped around a cardboard support, very fine.
Footnote: Private Honoré Belleau, Quebec Provisional Battalion is shown on the roll of the 97 man Quebec Provisional Battalion (AKA The Provisional Battalion of Quebec), as being posted to the Jesuit Barracks in Quebec City from May 23rd to 28th, 1870, with an "attack from (the) enemy expected, in readiness, waiting for orders" and is listed on page 240 of the "Canada General Service Medal Roll, 1866-70" by John Thyen. He is documented as being entitled to and having received the 1870 Fenian Raid clasp, not the 1866 version that accompanies his medal.
