(Orden al Mérito Aeronáutico). Established by Francisco Franco on November 30, 1945. Type I. White Distinction. Consisting of an enameled white four-armed cross constructed of silvered bronze, superimposed by a silvered crowned symbol of the Spanish Air Force, with a period enameled Spanish coat of arms on the center, 12 o’clock arm displaying a silvered clasp, beneath of a period royal crown both in silvered bronze, the reverse presenting an enameled red medallion inscribed “MA” for Aeronautical Merit (Spanish, Mérito Aeronáutico), measuring 42.30 mm (w) x 59.65 mm (h - inclusive of crown), suspended by an original White Distincion ribbon, on a typical Spanish horizontal hanger with pinback, minor wearing and toned surfaces, the ring suspension is bent, otherwise in extremely fine condition.

It was awarded to members of the Spanish Air Force in recognition of distinguished services and extraordinary acts of merit. Also, it was awarded to civilians who had contributed to the development of the Spanish Air Force.
