Germany, Third Reich. A Mixed Lot of Badges

(Abzeichen). A mixed lot of four badges, including a DRL Sports Badge, Bronze Grade, constructed of bronze, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, overlaid by central stylized initials “DRL” on a hollow background, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round write catch, maker marked “H. WERNSTEIN, JENA”, measuring 39.02 mm (w) x 48.94 mm (h), weighing 17.2 grams, in near extremely fine condition; a Wound Badge, Black Grade, constructed of blackened bronze, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, with a central Stahlhelm overlaid by a mobile swastika, on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with a vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 36.86 mm (w) x 43.97 mm (h), weighing 12.3 grams, with most of the blackened finish lost, in overall very fine condition; an Eastern Front Medal, constructed of silvered and patinated zink, the obverse bearing a raised Heer-style German national eagle clutching a swastika, the reverse bearing a raised inscription of “WINTERSCHLACHT IM OSTEN 1941/42” (“WINTER BATTLE IN THE EAST 1941/42”), above a crossed sword and laurel branch, topped by a Stahlhelm and stick grenade, unmarked, measuring 35.93 mm (w) x 44.12 mm (h), weighing 17.3 grams, the suspension loop has been lost and there is oxidation and loss of finish evident throughout, in overall poor condition, and; a Reich Labour Service of Female Youth (RADwJ) Silver Service Award, constructed of silvered bronze, horizontal pinback, the reverse stamped with a number of “11678”, otherwise unmarked, measuring 43.69, weighing 13.7 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
