(Luftschutz-Ehrenzeichen II. Klasse). Instituted 30 January 1938. (1938-1945 issue). Constructed of zink, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a circular oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, the obverse with a central raised mobile swastika, circumscribed by an inscription of “FÜR VERDIENSTE IM LUFTSCHUTZ” (“FOR MERIT IN AIR DEFENCE”), the reverse with a central raised date of “1938”, unmarked, measuring 38.65 mm (w) x 42.86 mm (h), weighing 25.8 grams, in extremely fine condition.
