Germany, DDR. An NVA Officer’s Belt, with a Soviet Dagger Hanger

(NVA Gürtel für Offizier, mit Dolch Anhänger). A National People’s Army (NVA) Officer’s belt and buckle, the former constructed of a grey wool base, the exterior fully lined with a gold bullion wire tresse bearing dual machine-embroidered grey bands, each end with a sliding band of identical construction, one end completing in an integrated bronze loop, the other connecting to a buckle constructed of gilded bronze, the obverse bearing a raised NVA insignia, the reverse with a clip and integrated loop, unmarked, measuring 55 mm in diameter, the belt measuring 50 mm (w) x 970 mm (l), in extremely fine condition; also including a Soviet Officer’s dagger hanger, constructed of woven golden-yellow cotton twill, the exterior bearing three bands of multi-coloured machine embroidery, one end completing in a gilded bronze clasp bearing a raised fouled anchor within a laurel wreath, with two integral loops connecting to narrow straps of identical construction, each featuring integrated functional gilded bronze buckles, with one strap completing in an integrated spring catch for dagger suspension, unmarked, measuring 45 mm (w) x 890 mm (l) as presented, missing one spring clip, in overall better than very fine condition.
