Constructed of a silvered and patinated bronze alloy, consisting of a double-overlaid starburst pattern, with a central silvered disc overlaid by a raised decoration in the form of a War Merit Cross with Swords, within a stamped circular laurel leaf wreath, wrapped with ribbon and joined together at the bottom by a date of “1941”, the wreath trimmed along both the inner and outer edges with red enameled rings, the reverse with three visible rivets securing the obverse features in place, with a raised barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 64.60 mm (w) x 64.75 mm (h), weighing 78.6 grams, with minor oxidation evident, in overall near extremely fine condition.
