Constructed of gilded zink, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a raised anchor, propeller, and edelweiss, representing the Kriegsmarine, Luftwaffe, and Gebirgsjäger, respectively, flanked by a date of “1940”, topped by a raised inscription of “NARVIK” and a German national eagle perched on top of a wreathed swastika, affixed with all original reverse attachment prongs to a zink backplate and dark blue wool backer, the shield measuring 41.00 mm (w) x 90.55 mm (h), with oxidation and loss of finish evident to the shield, in overall very fine condition.
