(Eisernes Kreuz 1914 II. Klasse). Reinstituted 5 August 1914. (1914-1918 issue). Constructed of silver, consisting of a Cross Pattée with a blackened core within a ribbed silver frame, the obverse with a central initial “W”, the six o’clock arm with a reinstitution date of “1914”, the twelve o’clock arm with a royal crown, the reverse with three central oak leaves, the six o’clock arm with an initial institution date of “1813”, the twelve o’clock arm with initials “FW” topped by a royal crown, marked “K.A.G” (unknown maker) on suspension loop, with black and white ribbon, measuring 43.08 mm (w) x 48.81 mm (h), weighing 18.4 grams, very fine.

A 1914 Iron Cross II Class Award Document to Leutnant H.R. Hoffmann of the Railroad Construction Company 30, on cream-coloured paper. Awarded on 8 March 1916. Stamped and signed by Generalfeldmarschall von Mackensen. Presenting two folding creases, slight discolouration, creasing and scuffing. Measuring 207 mm (w) x167 mm (h), very fine.
