Constructed of silver, consisting of a Cross Pattée with a blackened core within a ribbed silver frame, the obverse with a central initial “W”, the six o’clock arm with a reinstitution date of “1914”, the twelve o’clock arm with a royal crown, the reverse with three central oak leaves, the six o’clock arm with an initial institution date of “1813”, the twelve o’clock arm with initials “FW” topped by a royal crown, unidentified maker’s mark on integral loop with suspension loop, with black and white ribbon, measuring 41.61 mm (w) x 46.63 mm (h), weighing 16.3 grams, very fine.
A 1914 Iron Cross II Class Award Document to Infantryman Ludwig Braunbeck of the 4th Company Bavarian Infantry Regiment, on cream coloured paper. Awarded on 30 April 1918, stamped and signed. Presenting two folding creases, otherwise minor scuffing at edges. Measuring 205 mm (w) x 165 mm (h), very fine.
