(Eisernes Kreuz 1914 II. Klasse). Reinstituted 5 August 1914. (1914-1918 issue). Constructed of silver, consisting of a Cross Pattée with a blackened core within a ribbed silver frame, the obverse with a central initial “W”, the six o’clock arm with a reinstitution date of “1914”, the twelve o’clock arm with a royal crown, the reverse with three central oak leaves, the six o’clock arm with an initial institution date of “1813”, the twelve o’clock arm with initials “FW” topped by a royal crown, marked “WILM” (H.R. Wilm, Berlin) on suspension loop, with black and white ribbon, measuring 43.25 mm (w) x 47.11 mm (h), weighing 17.8 grams, very fine.

A 1914 Iron Cross II Class Award Document to Unteroffizier Friedrich Held of the Reserve Infantry Regiment 242, 8 Company, on cream-coloured paper. Awarded in the field on 4 March 1916. The document is stamped and signed. Presenting two folding creases with minor tearing, creasing and scuffing at the corners. Two holes punched at the left side and the reverse is taped in six places. Measuring 211 mm (w) x 167 mm (h), very fine.
