Instituted in 1950. (1950-1974 Issue.) In bronze, measuring 34.2 mm (w) x 47 mm (h), green oxidation and spotting evident on both sides, original ribbon, better than very fine.

 

Footnote: The Distinguished Conduct Medal was instituted in 1950, to replace the Medal for Outstanding Acts that had been introduced in 1940. Both medals were awarded to officers, non-commissioned officers and men of all the Armed Forces, Public Safety Corps and to anyone who offered exceptional services in facing the enemy.
