Germany, Wehrmacht. A Panzer Assault Badge, Bronze Grade by Frank & Reif

(Panzerkampfabzeichen in Bronze). Constructed of bronzed zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, topped by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, with a central Panzer IV rolling over grassy terrain, with its left tread extending beyond the edge of the wreath, the reverse with a crimped barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 42.16 mm (w) x 60.24 mm (h), weighing 33.8 grams, the bronze finish has been lost and spots of oxidation are evident to the obverse, in overall very fine condition.
