Germany, Heer. A Kuban Shield, Heer Issue

(Kubanschild). Constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a stylized map of the Kuban region, topped by an inscription of “KUBAN” and a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, flanked by a date of “1943”, fixed with all four attachment prongs to a field-grey wool liner with a light brown paper backer, unmarked, the shield measuring 52.16 mm (w) x 61.62 mm (h), in near mint condition.
