Germany, Wehrmacht. A Pair of Auer Neophan Goggles

(Schutzbrille). A pair of Auer Neophan goggles, primarily utilized by U-Boat and motorcycle personnel, constructed of a malleable black rubber frame with shatter-proof red plastic eyepieces. The goggles retain a dark green cotton strap with non-magnetic metal buckles for secure attachment. The obverse bears are raised maker’s mark of “AUER, NEOPHAN”, while the interior has a raised number “270/17”. They measure 130 mm (w) x 75 mm (h). Minor material fatigue and scratching is evident to the rubber and plastic features, respectively, but the Goggles are in an overall better than very fine condition.
