Constructed of silvered zink, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a round oak leaf wreath, the obverse with a central mobile swastika circumscribed by an inscription of “FÜR VERDIENST IM LUFTSCHUTZ” (“FOR SERVICE IN AIR PROTECTION”), the reverse with a central date of “1938”, unmarked, measuring 38.71 mm in diameter, weighing 25.5 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
