Eagle in fire gilt bronze, wreathing in gold-coloured bullion wire, in various textures, surmounted by a Tudor crown in silvered and gold-coloured bullion wire, reddish-maroon felt in the void of the crown, touches of red and green embroidery, black threading giving definition to the base of the crown, on a black wool base, padded, black cotton mesh backer, measuring 63 mm (w) x 72 mm (h), scattered gilt wear evident on the eagle, slight discolouration in the gold-coloured bullion wire on the wreath, extensive glue and paper residue on the reverse from previous board mounting, the colours on the crown remaining crisp, better than very fine.
