Hungary, Kingdom. A "Remember Russia" Trench Art Brass Shell Case 1943

A well-preserved Hungarian Eastern Front commemorative shell case, the exterior bearing a raised steel helmet on top of crossed swords, circumscribed by an inscription of “EMLÉK OROSZ FÖLDRÖL 1943” (“I REMEMBER RUSSIA 1943”), the opposite side bearing a shield with an engraved name of “GYULA”, the base with calibre stamps and Cyrillic markings indicating that this example is a captured Soviet shell, measuring 58 mm (w) x 235 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
