Germany, SS. A SS Long Service Medal, IV Class for 4 Years

(SS-Dienstauszeichnung, IV Klasse für 4 Jahre). Instituted 30 January 1938. (1938-1945 issue). Constructed of blackened bronze, on loop for suspension from a period correct replacement ribbon, the obverse bearing raised central double Sig runes, set within a circular oak leaf wreath, the reverse bearing a raised central number “4”, overlaid by an inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE IN DER SS” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE IN THE SS”), unmarked, with wartime however incorrect ribbon, measuring 38.00 mm in diameter, weighing 24.7 grams, in extremely fine condition
