Netherlands, NSB. A Mussert Cross

Constructed of bronze with multi-coloured enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with horizontal pinback, consisting of a Maltese Cross with black and red enameled arms, with crossed swords set through the centrepiece, the obverse bearing a central white enameled disc overlaid by a gilt mobile swastika and Wolfsangel rune, above oak leaf branches, the reverse bearing a central white enameled disc, overlaid by a gilt inscription of “MUSSERT 1941”, circumscribed by an inscription of “HOU EN TROU” (“FAITHFUL AND TRUE”), unmarked, measuring 37.75 mm (w) x 41.83 mm (h), weighing 27.4 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in extremely fine condition.
