(Kriegsmarine U-Boot Fernglas). A well-preserved pair of Second War period Kriegsmarine U-Boat binoculars, featuring a heavy and solid steel body, painted in a moss green, with coated objective and viewing lenses, and four rubber caps protecting both objective lenses and both eyepieces. The body tubes housing the lenses are joined together at two locations to a central focusing ring, each of the rubber eyepiece caps with non-magnetic U-shaped brackets in place, for the accommodation of a missing neck strap. The binoculars are unmarked and measure 222 mm (w) x 195 mm (l) when properly folded. While there are sporadic patches of lost paint and some fatigue to the rubber features, they are in an otherwise functional and very fine condition.
