Germany, Heer. A Set of Smoke/Chemical Troops Oberstleutnant Shoulder Boards

(Heer Schulterklappen für Nebeltruppe). A mis-matched set of Heer Smoke/Chemical Troops Oberstleutnant shoulder boards, each constructed of cardboard-reinforced Bordeaux-red wool. Each board bears four bands of interwoven silver aluminum wire piping, and is pinned with a gilded rank pip. The reverse of each strap features an integrated strap. Both unmarked, the boards measure 40 mm (w) x 115 mm (l). One strap is slightly faded and demonstrates evidence of reverse strap replacement. The boards are in an overall very fine condition.
