Germany, Kriegsmarine. A High Seas Fleet Badge, by Friedrich Orth

(Flottenkriegsabzeichen). Constructed of gilded and silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Kriegsmarine-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, with a frontal depiction of a battleship cutting through waves, the reverse with a block hinge and banjo-style pinback, maker marked with the logo of Friedrich Orth, Wien, measuring 43.57 mm (w) x 56.80 mm (h), weighing 23.6 grams, most of the finish has been lost, in overall very fine condition.
