Germany, Luftwaffe. A Tropical Artillery Pull Over Shirt

Item #G28551

$576
Fabricated from tan cotton, brown plastic button securing the collar in place at the rear, with both shoulders adorned with enlisted man's shoulder straps trimmed in red piping, indicating Flak (Artillery). Each of the straps is held in place by a large pebbled magnetic button, each of which is maker marked with the Friedrich Linden, Lüdenscheid insignia, marked "19 mm" and marked with an eagle flanked by a star on either side on the reverse. The front has two pockets sewn in place, one on each breast, each pocket with a decorative pleat and fold over flap with reinforced button hole for the brown plastic button. Sewn in place over the right breast pocket is a Luftwaffe eagle in gray embroidery on an inverted triangular rayon tan patch. The left breast pocket has a ribbon bar with a silvered bronze Luftwaffe eagle clasp, indicative of four years' service, pinned to the fold over flap, along with a two vertically-aligned horizontal loops in tan threading on the pleat for placement of an award, that has since been lost to time. The front has a vertical row of four brown plastic buttons on the right side, facing an equal number of reinforced button holes on the left side. Both cuffs are single-vented and in the button down style, each with a brown plastic button, along with a reinforced button hole for a snug fit at the wrist. The shirt measures 530 mm across the shoulders and 890 mm in length overall, exhibiting light soiling, silvering loss on the clasp on the ribbon bar, with intact stitching. Extremely fine.
