Germany, NSKK. A NSKK Daggers, by Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Co.

(NSKK Dolch). A NSKK Model 1933-style dagger, measuring 370 mm in total length when inserted into the scabbard. It features a 225 mm-long magnetic steel blade with a sharpened tip and semi-sharpened edges. Acid-etched onto the obverse of the blade is an inscription of “ALLES FÜR DEUTSCHLAND” (“EVERYTHING FOR GERMANY”) in Fraktur script. The reverse ricasso also bears a Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) logo and maker code of “M7/42” for Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Co. of Solingen. The blade is securely set within a nickel-silver upper crossguard, marked with eight notches, with four distributed along both the top and bottom. A curved piece of polished dark wood composes the handle, contoured for a comfortable grip. Inset into the obverse of the handle is a silvered insignia consisting of a NSDAP-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, measuring 25 mm (w) x 15 mm (h). Also inset into the handle is a silvered SA insignia measuring 9 mm in diameter. Completing the dagger is a lower crossguard, similarly constructed of nickel-silver and marked with eight notches, securely held together by a rounded pommel nut. It is accompanied by its period original scabbard, constructed of a black-painted magnetic metal shaft. Magnetic metal fittings are affixed to both the tip and throat, and are secured in place with dual side rivets. The throat retains a functional spring clip, securely holding the dagger in place during storage. An integral loop emanating from the throat fixture attaches to a period original dagger hanger, consisting of a black leather strap adjusted with a magnetic metal buckle and retaining a functional spring clip of identical construction. The spring clip bears a RZM mark, a maker code of “M5/71” for Overhoff & Cie of Lüdenscheid, along with the firm’s logo. While presentable, the dagger demonstrates evidence of blade restoration with consequent size modification, and the scabbard’s throat fixture is missing one of its side rivets. The dagger is in an overall fair condition.
