United Kingdom. A Medal "Dangers Averted" 1589, Late 19th Century Museum Specimen

In silver, obverse illustrating the left-facing bust of Queen Elizabeth, hair adorned with pearls, in a large ruff and embroidered dress, surrounded by the inscription "ELIZABETH.D.G.ANGLIE.F.ET.HI.REG.", reverse illustrating a large bay tree and buildings on an island, ships in the distance, the sun and clouds above, inscribed "E" and "R" on either side of the tree, and "NON.IPSA.PERICVLA.TANGVNT" (Not even dangers affect it), measuring 45 mm (w) x 62 mm (h) inclusive of its integral ring, suspended from a large loop ring, intricately detailed, near extremely fine.
