(Deutsches Adlerorden, V. Klasse mit Schwertern). Instituted 1 May 1937. (1943-1945 issue). Constructed of gilded silver with enamels, consisting of a Maltese Cross with white enameled arms, with each arm joined through the quadrants by a gilt NSDAP-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed with a white enameled centrepiece and gilt mobile swastika, the obverse overlaid by a central gilt sword clasp, the twelve o’clock featuring an integral fan suspension with a loop, unmarked but with the physical characteristics of manufacture by C.F. Zimmermann, Pforzheim, measuring 45.02 mm (w) x 50.90 mm (h), weighing 26.2 grams, with minor flecking of enamels evident, in overall extremely fine condition.
