Germany, Luftstreitkräfte. A Prussian Observer’s Badge, Sew-On Version

(Beobachterabzeichen). Constructed of silver with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a German State Crown, with a central red enameled square applique overlaid by a black and white checkered motif, the reverse with dual visible prongs securing the obverse applique in place, unmarked, measuring 32.40 mm (w) x 48.28 mm (h), weighing 7.8 grams, minor flecking of the enamels is evident, along with an age-appropriate patina to the silver, in overall near extremely fine condition.
